Before you write

• Permafrost needs macOS 26 or later.
• It needs access to your Photos library. You can change this in System Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Photos.
• If the backup says it has not started, check that the drive or network share is connected. Permafrost tries again by itself, and the window has a Back up now button.
• A first backup of a large library takes a long time. Leave your Mac on and plugged in. The window shows how far it has got.
